Artifex Jewellery Design is the concept of designer Melanie Fiedorowicz and is an online jewellery business only, based near historic Lincoln.

With an academic background in ancient history and literature, I am always inspired by the past, and this obsession is often reflected in my jewellery. I live out in the country, in the middle of nowhere, and my love of nature is also present in the jewellery I like to make.

I have always loved genuine craftsmanship and I felt that the high street lacked imaginative, hand-crafted yet affordable jewellery. I began life as a designer by making beaded jewellery and progressed to making my own components, taking silversmithing and wire-wrapping courses. More recently, I've become obsessed with the possibilities of resin jewellery.
